About
The music industry has a documentation problem. Not a legal problem, not a technology problem — a documentation problem. When disputes happen, when rights are contested, when AI-generated content muddies provenance, the question is always the same: what evidence exists, and when was it created?
Musicians create constantly. Most of that creation is undocumented in any systematic way. A file sits on a hard drive with a creation date that can be changed. A voice memo timestamps on a phone that gets lost. A DAW project folder with no clear provenance.
When a dispute arises — a Content ID claim, a co-writer disagreement, a sample clearance issue, a ghost production arrangement gone wrong — the absence of documentation is the problem. Not the dispute itself.
Existing solutions either overclaim (calling themselves copyright protection, which they are not) or underclaim (a basic timestamp service with no transparency about how it works). Neither inspires institutional confidence.
Audiverify is built to be the infrastructure layer that makes music documentation credible, verifiable, and independent of any single party.
When you submit audio to Audiverify, the system generates a SHA-256 cryptographic fingerprint of the file. That fingerprint, your declaration, and a server-side timestamp are recorded in an immutable log. A certificate is issued with a unique identifier and a public verification link.
The certificate does not prove you own the music. It does not grant any rights. It records that a specific file, with a specific fingerprint, was submitted by a specific account, with a specific declaration, at a specific time.
That record — when created before public release — becomes evidence. Not conclusive proof. Evidence. That distinction is intentional.
We record what happened and when. We do not verify ownership, grant rights, or take sides in disputes. That distinction matters legally and practically.
The value is in the immutable record: this file existed, this person declared this, at this moment in time. Everything else is built around protecting that fact.
We build systems designed to still be verifiable in 10 years. Certificates issued today should be independently checkable long after any single company is involved.
Any certificate can be verified by anyone with the link. No account required. No Audiverify involvement needed. The record stands on its own.
